Polo in The Villages, FL

Yesterday, the Ultimate Sports Wife and I attended polo in The Villages, FL. We attended a polo match in May 2008 and I was not sure the level of competition. I am still not sure since when I did some research on the sport before attending I could not determine what the main competitions were for polo.

However, with a beautiful Sunday afternoon and $2 beers ($1 at halftime of both games and for the entire second half of the second game) we decided we had no excuse not to attend. Also, how many opportunities does one get to watch a polo match only a few minutes from home.
In the consolation match, Fort Knox defeated Preferred Care Partners 14-10. In the championship match, Morgan Stanley and Citizens went to overtime tied 10-10 after Morgan Stanley tied the game at 10 with an undefended penalty goal by Nick Cifuni. Morgan Stanley scored a goal immediately in overtime to win the 8-Goal Lamartina Cup 11-10.

We went to see Polo at The Villages yesterday. I need to do some more research on the sport to understand what level of competition we were watching.
