Right Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 6.629/214.64, Now #1
2:09 PM The temperature is 70 degrees, the humidity is 57 percent,
the barometer is 30.12 and the track temp is 97 degrees.
Faucher
starts shaking the tires right off the line, tries to drive through it
but finally gives up about 400 feet out. Barklage shook the tires,
skated around a bit but never lifted. Left Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 9.321/96.51, Now #3
Right Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.367/220.42, Now #1
Torkelson gets loose off the line, makes a move toward the wall,
back to the right and gives up on the run. Critchley kept it in the
groove and takes the early pole. Left Lane: Thomas Patterson No Time, Now #6
Right Lane: Robert Smith Runs 10.873/79.99, Now #5
Patterson does his burn-out and blows the motor. He gets out of
the car and and waits for Smith to make his run. Smith comes off the
line, gets out of the groove and gets the car up on two wheels. He makes
a hard move toward the center-line and shuts down. We're down for a
cleanup in the left lane.
The Safety Safari is using a different

Right Lane: Randy Hagerty Runs 6.676/207.99, Now #4
2:46 PM and we're back after a fifteen minute cleanup. The wait
didn't seem to hurt Smith, he goes right down the groove and gets in the
second spot for now. Left Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.464/222.93, Now #3
Right Lane: Marty McGinnis Runs 6.501/218.02, Now #4
Ashley has announced that he has retained a sponsor through 2003,
Infinet Insurance & Financial Network. He does a great job of
driving on this pass, moving to the left, then the right and back again. Left Lane: Chuck Nuytten Runs 7.135/191.53, Now #8
Right Lane: Billy Harper Runs 6.481/188.52, Now #4
Nuytten was out of shape all the way through the run and puts out
blue smoke as he goes through the lights. Harper makes a clean pass and
gets into the field for now. Left Lane: Bill Kuhlmann Runs 7.334/134.54, Now #10
Right Lane: Bill Hill Runs 7.223/146.34, Now #9
Kuhlmann gets out of the groove, starts moving around and finally
gives up on the run. Hill was on a decent pass until about 700 feet,
then a big flash came from under his car and shuts down. Left Lane: Annette Summer Runs 7.538/154.40, Now #12
Right Lane: Andy Neyer Runs 6.455/222.44, Now #3
Summer gets about 100 feet out, shakes the tires and has to pedal.
Neyer went right down the groove and gets in the show for now. Left Lane: Mitch Stott Runs 6.261/228.71, Now #1
Right Lane: Shannon Jenkins Runs 6.303/222.99, Now #2
Two good looking runs, both right down the middle and they take
the top two spots.

Patterson gets a little out of shape, the back end of
the car swaying back and forth, but he hangs on and makes a good run to

A great side-by-side. Both had 1.01 sixty-foot times and they were
dead even at half-track. Stott started pulling away at that point and
will stay in the top spot.

Hill
makes his burnout, the engine dies and he pulls off to the side. He is
finally able to get the engine started and pulls off the ned of the
track.
Faucher leaves the line, gets about 400 feet out and

can't make the run. Kuhlmann hits the throttle, shakes the tires, pedals
