Chicago Cubs »
For the first time since 1996 I attended Major League Baseball’s Opening Day which was also at Wrigley Field. It was also the first regular season game I have attended in March.
The start of the game was delayed for about 40 minutes. During the delay I sold my parking spot for $60 – making up for the $60 I paid in Los Angeles Saturday night.
I was hoping to see a 0-0 extra inning game when Milwaukee scored three runs in the top of the 9th. But …

Opening Day started early for us as we arrived home at 2 am after flying back from LA to Chicago. As we drove by Wrigley we saw the rooftop owner we know – Tom Gramatis. After a short conversation with him about the upcoming season we parked the car and walked across the street to Murphy’s Bleachers to see if we could eat dinner and watch ESPN Radio setup for Mike and Mike in Morning.
Murphy’s was closed to the public so instead we took pictures of the two …

You may wonder if the chance to watch baseball at the Coliseum was worth the trip all the way to LA.
Well, the shear enormity of the event- in size rather than signifcance- was worth it. There was a carnival-like atmosphere around the stadium with tailgating starting at 8am and continuing through out the game. At this time, we were still in Chicago but getting ready to take the trip.
By the time we landed in LA (5pm) and got to the game (6pm), the level of …
Los Angeles Dodgers »
After spending 24 hours in Los Angeles to attend the Dodgers game at the LA Coliseum, the Ultimate Sports Wife and I made it back to Chicago in time for opening day. Check out the details here.
Los Angeles Dodgers »
An event like this only comes around once in a lifetime – at least a lifetime that started after 1961. You’ll notice that no stadium appears on my stadium pages that stopped being used before 1976 (the year I was born). My opinion is that you cannot miss a stadium if you were not alive to see it. Thus, the LA Dodgers playing at the LA Coliseum has been brought back from the dead (or pre-birth).
Rarely does a team go back to play in a stadium they played in previously. …
Chicago Rush »
As I arrived at the Allstate Arena, the parking lot was pretty full – much more than I expected. I have not been to the Allstate Arena since the Ultimate Sports Wife and I went to Wrestlemania XXII on April 2, 2006 – obviously a sold out event.
Now I cannot think of a more pathetic thing than what I am about to report. But, I saw guys chugging beers in the “tailgating area.” I did not even know tailgating at Allstate existed.
The cheapest ticket at the …

Ok, I just love this chant…but I have to admit…If I had to pick a second team to love, it would probably be the Dodgers. I did live in LA long enough to gain some sentiment for them.
Now, if Andrew has anything to say…I will have to talk to him about Andrew’s bi-Sox-ual tendencies towards the White Sox.
Traitor in the Midst
Well, this site might be a bit heavy on the Chicago sports but remember…Have Game? Will Travel. We are on route to the Dodgers …
Parking Antics »
When you go to a ridiculous amount of games across many different types of sports, you start to develop some unlikely friendships or in some cases, acquaintances. Case in point…the Scalper on our Lawn, Broker Ben (who scalps at Wrigley and Northwestern (of all places), and our good friend Tiki.
Tiki is the parking attendant at Red Top’s United Center lot. We go to quite a few Bulls and Hawks games in the dead of winter and God BVless this man, but he …
Chicago Rush »
For the first time in six years, I am going to a Chicago Rush home game at the Allstate Arena. The Rush and the Chicago Storm (MISL) are the only Chicago teams’ home this evening. I am attending the Rush game because the league’s status is higher and the Allstate Arena is on my way home from work versus driving out to the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.
Scalpers »
I mentioned that our house has a preferred ticket scalper. Well, the Almighty God of Ticket Scalpers must have heard me because I just spotted our guy walking down Sheffield Ave towards the stadium. Same Cubs jacket, Same Hat, Same thick rimmed glass. This guy looks exactly like a 70 year old Bartman. Today’s sight is like Ground Hog emerging from his hole. Where does this guy go all year ’round?
Now, just cause he is “our” scalper doesn’t mean we chose him. He …
