The first game of the day passed without much fanfare. The Cubs lost 8-2 and the Brewers batted their pitcher 8th for the second straight game – a tactic they plan to use most of the season. The main news of the day was that the Cubs clubhouse attendant, Yosh Kawano, announced he would retire after 65 years with the club.
Now we’re off to see if the Blackhawks can post another shutout.

For the first time this year, I will attend two games in one day. The Cubs are hosting the Brewers at 1:20 pm and the Blackhawks host the Red Wings at 7:30 pm tonight. Weekday afternoon Cubs games means I arrive at work as early as possible in order to get to the game on time.

For the first time since 1996 I attended Major League Baseball’s Opening Day which was also at Wrigley Field. It was also the first regular season game I have attended in March.
The start of the game was delayed for about 40 minutes. During the delay I sold my parking spot for $60 – making up for the $60 I paid in Los Angeles Saturday night.
I was hoping to see a 0-0 extra inning game when Milwaukee scored three runs in the top of the 9th. But …

Opening Day started early for us as we arrived home at 2 am after flying back from LA to Chicago. As we drove by Wrigley we saw the rooftop owner we know – Tom Gramatis. After a short conversation with him about the upcoming season we parked the car and walked across the street to Murphy’s Bleachers to see if we could eat dinner and watch ESPN Radio setup for Mike and Mike in Morning.
Murphy’s was closed to the public so instead we took pictures of the two …
