Nicole planned to take Dylan to her grandfather’s 90th birthday party in south Texas so I had a weekend home alone in Chicago. Of course, since it is Super Bowl weekend, there is only one sporting event in Chicago – Illinois at Northwestern on Saturday afternoon. This was the first game ever televised by CBS Sports at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Beg, Borrow and Deal
Since I thought I would be late after dropping the wife and baby off at Midway airport, I called Broker Ben and told him I would pay $20 for a ticket. He said yes. After parking in my usual area for free I walked towards Ben to buy the ticket. There were a lot of extra tickets on my way towards the arena so I could have easily bought a ticket for $10 if I had waited but at least I had piece of mind.

Illinois at Northwestern
Just one month ago, Illinois crushed Northwestern in Champaign. Today, was another story as Northwestern held onto a 71-70 victory over #24 Illinois. Michael Thompson led the Wildcats with 22 points who also hit two three-pointers in the last few minutes of the game.
