Last night, we went to the The Chicago Sky’s home opener at the
UIC Pavilion. Now, you may wonder…with the Chicago Fire, the White Sox, the Chicago Rush in town, why would chose to go to the WNBA game? Well, the best feature of the UIC Pavilion is its proximity to Little Italy. You can stay for the game and then, walk to an amazing Italian meal after.

Our favorite place, Tufano’s, is within walking distance from the stadium on the eastern edge of Little Italy. So, leave your car in the UIC parking lot while you wine and dine.

Now, if the WNBA is still not your thing, then go for the celebrity sightings. In the two times that we have been to the Sky games, we have not been disappointed. Last time, it was Devin Hester of the Chicago Bears. This time, it was my pal, Dwyane Wade, sitting only rows away. So, what do you do when you are but feet away from an NBA All -Star?…well, my section decided to yell “Hey, Dwyane Wade, Put me in your Five!” Probably not the best tactic to actually get in with Mr. Wade, but sure make for a fun pastime for the time outs.
