DePaul Men’s Basketball at McGrath Arena
I normally would never choose to attend a DePaul men’s basketball game over a Chicago Blackhawks game, but there were several reasons why it made sense tonight. First, my mom was planning to attend the game I did. Second, we were bringing the Ultimate Sports Baby. Third, I was not sure how much we would have to pay for tickets outside of the United Center. Fourth, Nicole could meet us for dinner after the event. Fifth, and the main reason, I always wanted to attend a DePaul Men’s Basketball game at McGrath Arena. I have attended several women’s basketball games there but never a men’s game.
Thus, the rarity of the men playing in the arena and the ease of attending the game made DePaul the clear favorite over the Blackhawks game. Tickets for tonight’s game were more expensive than I was expecting at $20 each since it was a men’s game. With no scalpers we were forced to buy from the box office.
Chicago St. at DePaul
DePaul ran away with this game defeating Chicago St. 114-81. It was the most points DePaul has scored since Nov. 25, 1999 when they also scored 114 over American-Puerto Rico.
Post Game Dining
After the game, we ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings – located just a few blocks from the arena at 2464 N. Lincoln Ave. The area has a lot of bars and restaurants to choose from but this is one of Nicole’s favorites which is the main reason we go each time.
