I was on my own with the Ultimate Sports Baby on Sunday. Guess I should have figured that after spending Friday night in Minneapolis and flying back to Chicago Saturday evening. Thus, we were off to the Chicago White Sox game on the final day of MLB’s regular season. I arrived at the ballpark early this time, in order to avoid the disaster that occurred on August 29 when the New York Yankees were in town. As soon as we parked there was a scalper selling tickets. I offered him $10 for a $23 ticket and he accepted.

Tailgating at U.S. Cellular Field
I brought some hot dogs to grill even though I did not bring a grill. I planned to borrow somebody else’s grill to cook the food – a cute baby never hurts when asking for favors. When I saw a grill a few cars down from mine I put Dylan in his stroller and off we were.

Dumb Rule Leads to Preferential Treatment
After I was done eating it was time to head into the game. I entered through Gate 2 thinking I would be able to go into the Bullpen Sports Bar to get organized with the Ultimate Sports Baby. Instead I was told I could not bring the baby into the bar because he was not 21. “Dumb rule,” I thought since clearly Dylan could not even walk around. As I was leaving an At Your Service employee asked me if I would like to take the elevator rather than walk up the ramp. Of course, I said yes and we walked from the bar to the elevator located behind home plate. I chose to get off at the 100-level section since nobody was checking tickets.

The 100-level at U.S. Cellular Field is a much better area when attending a White Sox game with an infant or any child in a stroller – the main reason being that you can keep the stroller with you and watch from the standing room section without having to pack up everything and walk to your seat.

Cleveland Indians at Chicago White Sox
The White Sox defeated the Indians 6-5 on the last day of the regular season as Ozzie Guillen won the 600th game of his managerial career. Paul Konerko and A.J. Pierzynski were honored throughout the game (pre-game intros, each at-bat and when they were removed from the game) in case this is their last game with the White Sox.
