Sean MacDonald at AT&T Park: Dodgers at Giants
Once again I was back at AT&T Park for Tuesday night’s Giants game versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. This time my Dad was planning to attend. Also, Sean MacDonald (who runs the website sportsroadtrips.blogspot.com) was in town after arriving from Tokyo earlier today.
Parking at AT&T Park
This time I found a parking lot on Berry St. south of 5th St. that was only $20. It was definitely a long walk to AT&T Park, but worth saving $10 in my opinion. Plus, the parking lot was not that big so traffic getting out of the lot would not be manageable.
Pre Game Dining
I met up with Sean at Public House – the restaurant that is part of AT&T Park. However, the place was terrible since it took so long to get a drink. Once my Dad arrived, we left immediately and ate dinner at 3rd St. Grill located west of Townsend St. The place was not crowded at all and the food was good and reasonably priced. I am not sure why the place was not that crowded.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
For the second night in a row, we bought tickets from my friend’s place with the last minute StubHub services. We ended up buying bleacher seats for $14 ($18 with StubHub fees). Since we could not find three cheap tickets together on the street we decided not to sit with Sean. He ended up buying a bleacher seat for $20, so the effort of buying through StubHub for some games is probably not worth it. Also, buying from StubHub at the last minute removes any possibility of receiving a free ticket outside of the stadium which happens to me relatively often.
Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants
Tonight’s game was much closer than last night. Tim Lincecum was on the mound for the Giants, but the Dodgers scored three runs off him in the third. He loaded the bases in the 6th inning when he plunked Juan Uribe before getting pulled. Guillermo Mota got out of the 6th inning jam which propelled the Giants to a 5-4 victory.
