StubHub Game Time Purchasing: Cardinals at Giants
It was a great day for a doubleheader. My Dad and I planned to attend both the San Francisco Giants game and Golden State Warriors game.
Parking
Parking was much easier today than it was on Friday. I have a friend who lives on Berry St. who let us park in his spot for free.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
In a turn of events, my friend told me that StubHub was now selling Giants tickets up until game time rather than cutting of sales two hours before the game as they do with Cubs games. He told me that Friday’s home opener tickets fell to around $35 for upper level seats minutes before the game began.
However, rather than wait until the last minute, my Dad wanted to get into the game early. We ended up buying two tickets for $25 each from a scalper on the street. My Dad entered AT&T Park and I went back to my friend’s apartment to watch the action unfold on StubHub. About 15 minutes before the game upper level seats had dropped to $5 each (around $10 each after fees) on StubHub. Lower level seats were more expensive but “better deals.” Today, StubHub won, but the jury is still out on this new way to buy tickets on the secondary market up until game time.
St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants
The Giants took an early 1-0 lead after the first inning. But, that was the only run Kyle Lohse allowed leading the Cardinals to a 6-1 victory to avoid the sweep. Today the Giants honored 2010 NL Rookie of the Year Buster Posey with a pregame ceremony.
