Wife Flies in Late: Padres at Cubs
As is normally the case, I made sure I bought Nicole a flight that landed in Chicago after the Cubs game. This way I could attend the game and still pick up Nicole. However, I debated on whether to attend this game tonight since I was already in the suburbs before the game and had to drive to O’Hare airport after the game. But then I thought this could be the first four game sweep I ever witness. I have attended two other four game series this year at Wrigley and both ended with the Cubs winning three out of four (not sure how).
Beg, Borrow and Deal
My neighbor wanted my season tickets for tonight’s game so I needed to buy a single. I was late and wanted to get into the game quickly so I did not negotiate as well as I could have paying $20 for a $60.48 Ticket
San Diego Padres at Chicago Cubs
The Padres’ Jon Garland and Cubs’ Randy Wells each pitched seven strong innings, but Garland was better as the Padres defeated the Cubs 1-0 – the third 1-0 game I have seen this season and my 16th overall 1-0 game.
In fact, the last time the Cubs lost 1-0 was on June 16, 2007 which was also versus the Padres and a game I also attended.
Once again the crowd at Wrigley Field was sparse. The entire stadium was barely half full (including the bleachers) – a sight I cannot remember seeing for a long time.
